Academy Training Agreement signed by the GCAA and ACAC

The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and the Arab Civil Aviation Commission, have signed an agreement under which the GCAA will offer training grants to ACAC member-states during 2010-2012 for developing specialized human resources in the civil aviation field.

The GCAA will hold training sessions designed and delivered by the Academy of Technical Training, both inside and outside of the UAE on aviation safety, aviation accident probes, airports security, civil aviation management, flight planning, assistant air traffic controllers, management of accidents/incidents and probes as well as other specialized training programs in the aviation field.

The agreement was signed by Director General of GCAA H.E.Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi and Director General of ACAC H.E. Mohamed Al Elj at ceremony in the presence of Brigadier Pilot Ahmed Mohamed bin Thani, and Mr Lahej Saif Saeed AL Falasi Chairman of the Academy of Technical Training.

H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, stated that ‘Under the agreement the GCAA will impart its expertise and know-how in training and developing human resources specialized in civil aviation to ACAC member-states, which will, in turn, expand the base of specialists in this field that is experiencing incredibly rapid growth", he added.

H.E. Mohammed Al Elj added, ‘the UAE GCAA stands as a unique example in the civil aviation industry at both regional and international levels. Thanks to its persistent efforts in training specialized human resources and strict compliance with the standards of international civil aviation organizations, the GCAA has attained a high and advanced position in this field. Several authorities and organizations wish to benefit from the UAE GCAA expertise and capabilities in training human resources and its high-end training programs, which all aim at one target: to elevate the overall position of civil aviation industry’.
