Course Description

This course is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge in English to the ICAO scale. To meet the high standard of safety in flight operations, it is extremely important for the pilots and controllers to have command over general English and specialized aviation English language. This would also enhance the R/T communication to the desired standard.
Course Content
All instruction is in English. A wide range of teaching methods and materials are used to stimulate the interest of the participants. All efforts are made in achieving an effective balance of linguistic skill ( listening, reading, specking and writing ) with emphasis on clear and correct oral communication.
 
This course shall include the following topics.

2.   Aircraft Technical Knowledge
3.   Navigation
4.   Meteorology
5.   Air operations - General
6.   Navigation Aids
7.   Air Traffic Services - General
8.   Air traffic Services - Operational
9.   Communications
10. Aerodrome Control Procedures
11. Non-Radar Approach
12. Radar Control
Performance Objectives
1.   To improve understanding of the technical English used by pilots and controllers.
2.   To introduce and explain the terminology and abbreviations user within the aviation environment
3.   To provide a general understanding of ATS operations and procedures
Participant Requirements
1.   This course is considered essential for pilots and ATC personnel
2.   Trainees should have good oral and written command of the English Language
3.   This course has a duration of 4 weeks
